RESOLUTION

OF THE SAN ANGELO FAMILY NETWORK

ADOPTING TUFFY THE RAM AS THE OFFICIAL MASCOT

WHEREAS, the San Angelo Family Network (SAFN) is dedicated to supporting and empowering kinship caregivers who provide stability, love, and guidance to children in need; and

WHEREAS, Tuffy the Ram has been an enduring symbol of strength, resilience, and perseverance, first as a live mascot and later as an iconic illustration that represented the spirit of the San Angelo community for over three decades; and

WHEREAS, Tuffy’s journey—from being a beloved figure to facing uncertainty—closely reflects the experiences of kinship caregivers and the children they support, demonstrating the power of perseverance, family, and second chances; and

WHEREAS, SAFN recognizes the importance of symbols that inspire and unite communities, and seeks to honor Tuffy’s history by ensuring his legacy continues to make a meaningful impact; and

WHEREAS, by designating Tuffy as the official mascot of SAFN, the organization reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness, providing resources, and advocating for kinship caregivers and the children in their care;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

Tuffy the Ram is hereby adopted as the official mascot of the San Angelo Family Network.

SAFN will use Tuffy’s likeness to promote awareness and advocacy for kinship caregivers and children in need.

SAFN will honor Tuffy’s legacy through educational initiatives, branding, and outreach efforts, ensuring his story continues to inspire future generations.

This resolution shall be effective immediately and shall serve as a public acknowledgment of SAFN’s commitment to supporting kinship families with the strength and determination that Tuffy represents.

ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 6th day of February, 2025, by the San Angelo Family Network.
